Problem/Opportunity

The USP of Newjaisa was in guaranteeing the quality and fair price of their refurbished equipment. They achieved this through exhaustive and accurate testing. For economic viability they need to do this at scale and with consistency. This needs automation in performing tests and recording results.

Outcome

Designed and developed a mobile app which could perform tests, record results and upload it to the backend server for subsequent workflows. The app was also designed to work in an offline mode since internet availability at all testing locations could not be assumed. Resulted in a 100x increase in productivity and a 10x increase in supply chain options and satisfied customers.

Execution

Mobile app built using React Native and Expo with a Node JS backend. This ensured cross-platform availability and a light-weight footprint. Also developed a utility that boots a computer, conducts tests and collects the results for subsequent upload to the backend. This utility is made available to NJ staff on a USB stick for easy portability and use.
